Caterpillars’ & Cocoons…

We have been so excited to watch our Monarch Caterpillars eat all the leaves off the tops of our Milkweed plants.  We had 12 Caterpillars.  Little dude loves to go out and watch them.  However, today we went outside and saw that they were no longer on the Milkweed plant.  They have moved on…  Later that afternoon my hubby spotted a Cocoon.  We just spotted 1 of them.  It is fun to go out each day and check on it…

Explore nature.  Creatures and plants are changing all around us.  Share it with your little person.  Let them explore and learn first hand from nature.  You may learn something too…

Mommyscout…

So I’ve been on this organizing kick the past two weeks and I’ve been clearing out.  Creating space, shedding layers, however you may want to call it!  It has been fantastic!

Little dude and I do the best class ever at a local aquarium.  However, before we head to class we meet a friend at the park.  My poor little dude got so many bug bits and I got bite on my baby toe by a red ant.  Note to self don’t wear flip- flops to the park!  I forgot to put bug spray on us before we left the house.  Sometimes it is just so hard to remember everything you need for the day without packing up the whole house.  I figured there needed to be a better way and I needed to get organized.

A Mommyscout Kit that stayed in the car!  Including- diapers & wipes of course, a cloth towel or paper towels to wipe down any wet playground equipment, Disinfecting wipes, bug spray, sunblock (a must here in the sunshine state), stain stick, plastic bag, Benadryl cream for any bug bits, and a first aid kit!  Wow so easy!!

Here’s how mine turned out…

Red Light… Green Light…

Today’s wild Wednesday adventure was a playgroup with little dude!  Fun and exciting.  Followed by a quick trip to the mall.  When I mean quick it was an in and out get to the point, 1 store 15 minute shopping trip to buy much needed concealer!  Very successful I must add.  Our wild adventure included whining, crying, and running away from mommy!  The normal 2- year- old stuff.  So onward we pressed. Home, lunch, nap, and snack…

Tonight we went for a long adventure walk.  Exploring along the way.  We found our Caterpillars’ have grown a ton and most of the leaves off the tops of the tree are gone.  They have started off very small but now are getting pretty big.  We greeted all the people in the neighbor that were outside and looked at Halloween decorations that were around the neighborhood.

On our walk we played Red Light Green Light.  It is a fantastic game for teaching stop and go.  “Green Light” we hold hands and run.  “Red Light” we hold hands and stop.  My little dude loves it.  He already knows we have to hold hands on our walks and we have to stay on the sidewalk.  The Red Light Green Light game reinforces listening skills, compliance, and is fun.
